Anatomy of a Sunday Sweat

Six legs, four hours, one increasingly uncomfortable couch. A walkthrough of how it actually feels.

A parlay is a story with a bad ending you have agreed to in advance. That is not pessimism, it is just the maths of multiplying probabilities.

I still build them, because the four hours in the middle are genuinely entertaining television, and because I have made peace with how most of them end.

The 1pm window is optimism. The 4pm window is negotiation. The Sunday night game is either a victory lap or a funeral, and you know which one by about 9:40.

Nothing about this is advice. It is a sweat, and the sweat is the point.
